The Senate has reinstated Bauchi Central Senator, Abdul Ahmed Ningi, who was suspended for three months on March 12, 2024, for accusing the Senate of budget padding.
The recall was initiated by Deputy Minority Leader Sen. Abba Moro, who moved the motion expressing regret on behalf of Sen. Ningi. Sen. Moro also pledged to assume full responsibility for Ningi’s actions.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio highlighted Ningi’s resourcefulness and valued contributions, stating that the decision to recall him transcends religious and ethnic divides.
