In a decisive move, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has issued a mandate to the state’s legislature to promptly initiate impeachment proceedings against Governor Siminialayi Fubara.
This directive comes in the wake of controversial comments made by Governor Fubara regarding President Tinubu’s involvement in resolving the state’s ongoing political strife.
The call to action was announced by the APC’s state caretaker committee, headed by Tony Okocha, during a press briefing in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, May 7.
The governor’s recent public address, in which he dismissed the legitimacy of the state’s House of Assembly, has escalated tensions and spurred the APC’s call for his impeachment.
