The All Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged victorious in the recent local government council elections in Gombe State, securing all 11 chairmanship and 114 councillorship seats, as announced by the Gombe State Independent Electoral Commission (GOSIEC).
The electoral body confirmed that the APC candidates were unchallenged in all 114 councillorship contests, with no other party presenting candidates.
Contrastingly, the Gombe State branch of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed the election results, criticizing the process as a mockery of democratic principles.
While the PDP deliberates on potential courses of action for contesting the results, the officials elected under the APC banner are set to be inaugurated by Governor Inuwa Yahaya the following day.
