In response to safety concerns, Mr. Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, has issued a directive for the suspension of Dana Airline’s fleet operations.
The memo, signed by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr. Emmanuel Meribole, conveyed the minister’s instruction for the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to initiate the suspension.
Expressing apprehension over recent incidents regarding both safety and financial viability within the airline’s operations, Keyamo emphasized the necessity of the suspension.
He asserted that Dana Airline will remain grounded until a comprehensive audit, covering all aspects of safety protocols, maintenance procedures, and financial health, is conducted to ensure full compliance with aviation regulations.
