During the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election in Ondo State, Health Commissioner Banji Ajaka faced a violent reaction from party members at Ugbo Ward 3, Ilaje Local Government Area.
The altercation stemmed from accusations that Ajaka was concealing the result sheets necessary for the election process.
The confrontation occurred when voters, who were awaiting their turn to cast ballots, were informed by electoral officers that Ajaka might be in possession of the crucial documents.
A local source reported that Ajaka was targeted due to his association with Governor Aiyedatiwa’s faction, which was accused of tampering with the election materials by removing the result sheets.
Supporters of Chief Olusola Oke, who were present at the scene, expressed their frustration and anger, believing it was time for a change in leadership.
Ajaka himself acknowledged the incident, confirming that he was besieged by an irate crowd over the alleged mishandling of the result sheet, despite his attempts to clarify the situation.
