In a significant turn of events, the Edo House of Assembly has impeached Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu.
The decision came after the House adopted the findings of a seven-member investigative committee, which was established by Chief Judge Justice Daniel Okungbowa to examine accusations of misconduct made against Shaibu.
The committee, led by retired Justice Stephen Omonua, concluded that Shaibu was culpable of disclosing confidential official secrets, leading to his impeachment.
This development marks a critical juncture in the governance of Edo State.
