Renowned American content creator, Kai Cenat, has announced plans to construct a new school for children in Makoko.
Makoko, a densely populated waterfront slum renowned for its stilted and floating structures in the Lagos Lagoon, will soon witness the fruition of Cenat’s philanthropic endeavor.
In a recent video, Cenat expressed his commitment, stating, “I have commenced the process of building the school.”
The 22-year-old YouTube sensation emphasized the need for skilled individuals and proper equipment to execute the project efficiently.
“The official commencement of building this new school in Nigeria has been marked today. It’s all systems go,” he declared.
Cenat underscored the significance of the school for the children of Makoko, Nigeria, affirming his dedication to the project’s realization.
“If you are in Nigeria and acquainted with experts who can ensure impeccable paintwork and procure necessary equipment, and are willing to roll up their sleeves for a fair wage, reach out to me,” he urged.
Highlighting the ongoing efforts, he added, “Work is underway, with dedication to prepare the school premises. I intend to document this journey and share it through video content.”
Cenat’s inaugural visit to Nigeria earlier this month, facilitated by Shank, the Nigerian skit maker, marked the inception of his engagement with the Makoko community.
During their three-day stay in the Makoko area of Lagos, Cenat and Shank immersed themselves in understanding the local needs and challenges.
Reportedly, Cenat contributed $3,000 towards an existing school project in the floating slum, demonstrating his commitment to improving educational infrastructure in the region.
Born Kai Carlo Cenat III, Cenat has gained prominence as an online streamer and YouTuber, primarily recognized for his engaging live streams and comedic content on the platform.
His accolades include being honored as the ‘Streamer of the Year’ at the 2023 Streamer Awards, solidifying his status as a leading figure in the digital content creation sphere.
