The State Police Command spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin made this known via a post on X, adding that four people behind the fake factory business were also arrested and some of their fake products were recovered by the force.
The Nigeria Police Force recently conducted a raid on an illicit factory producing counterfeit alcoholic beverages in Lagos State. Benjamin Hundeyin, the State Police Command spokesperson, disclosed this information via a post on X, revealing that four individuals involved in the illegal manufacturing operation were apprehended.
The police also seized a quantity of fake products manufactured by the group.Hundeyin elaborated on the operation, stating, “Officers of Isokoko Division, acting on credible information, conducted a raid on a residence in Agege where fake alcoholic beverages were being produced.
The police successfully arrested four suspects associated with this unlawful distillery and recovered counterfeit drinks, along with empty bottles and labels representing various well-known brands. Our investigation into this matter is ongoing.

In a similar event last December, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) intercepted counterfeiters operating in the Eziukwu market in Aba, Abia State.
These counterfeiters were engaged in the production of a wide range of fake beverages, including wines, soft drinks, and other items valued at over N750 million.
NAFDAC, in collaboration with other security agencies, undertook this operation following a tip-off.
The agency further highlighted the illicit activities of these counterfeiters, which involved the production of various adulterated products, specifically mimicking popular brands such as Seaman Schnapps, Henessy, Four Cousins, Carlo Rossi, Jenney, Chelsea London Dry Gin, Schnapp Dry Gin, McDowells, Black Labels, Gordons, Martell, Campari, Smirnoff ice, Eva non-alcoholic drink, Evra non-alcoholic drink, Cartel, among others.
