On Tuesday, March 19, the Senate ratified the selection of Gbenga Alade to serve as the new managing director of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).
Additionally, the legislative body endorsed Adeshola Lamidi, Lucky Adaghe, and Dr. Aminu Murktar Dan’amu for their respective roles as executive directors within the same institution.
This decision came on the heels of the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance, and other Financial Institutions’ endorsement, which had previously evaluated the qualifications of the nominees.
The committee’s findings were brought forth by its chairman, Senator Adetokunbo Abiru.
The nominations, initially proposed by President Bola Tinubu, were presented to the Senate with a request for their swift consideration and confirmation.
