The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially chosen Hon. Dennis Idahosa as the deputy governorship candidate for the upcoming Edo Governorship election on September 21.
Today, APC’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and National Secretary, Sen. Ajibola Bashiru, will introduce the party’s main candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and his deputy, Idahosa, to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa.
Idahosa steps in to fill the role initially designated for Hon. Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, who was previously selected by the gubernatorial candidate.
The decision came to light following an extensive meeting involving Edo stakeholders, APC’s top brass, and Vice President Kashim Shettima, which concluded on Sunday night.
The meeting also included Senator Monday Okpebholo, the party’s chosen candidate, former Edo Governor, Senator Adams Oshiomole, and Hon. Idahosa himself.
This development follows the resolution of the disputes from the party’s initial primary election held on February 1, which concluded later on February 21, where Idahosa was a key contender.
