Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has faced intense criticism for asserting that President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda is showing positive results.
Reporters has reported that Mrs. Tinubu asserted that some of the initiatives introduced under President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda are already showing signs of progress and are poised to extend their benefits to communities nationwide.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Women Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria in Abuja, Mrs. Tinubu emphasized that these initiatives, with a focus on women’s welfare, are set to positively impact all Nigerians.
Representing Mrs. Tinubu at the event, Mrs. Adedayo Benjamins-Laniyi, the Mandate Secretary for Women Affairs in the Federal Capital Territory, highlighted improvements in the country’s economic situation.
However, in response to Mrs. Tinubu’s remarks, a social media user identified as the Office of the Nigerian Youth criticized the First Lady, accusing her of promoting falsehood and employing cheap propaganda tactics.
The user questioned the purported benefits of the Renewed Hope Agenda, pointing to rising fuel and food prices, alongside worsening electricity and water supply conditions, as evidence of the administration’s failures.
Another commentator, Alexander QM, alleged that the First Family’s wealth has increased at the expense of the impoverished masses, citing a surge in poverty and starvation rates.
Echoing similar sentiments, Omo Iya Pupa suggested that the Tinubu-led administration’s purported progress only benefits the ruling elite, exacerbating hardships faced by the populace.
Additional criticism came from various social media users, with concerns raised about the administration’s handling of the economy, security, and overall governance, with many accusing it of prioritizing propaganda over tangible progress.
