Governor Sanwo-Olu Explores Infrastructure Partnerships in China. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State continues his quest for improved infrastructure and efficiency by engaging with the management team of the China Airport Construction Company (CACC) during his visit to Beijing, China.
During his visit, Governor Sanwo-Olu also toured the Beijing Subway to inspect its signaling system, which has been operational for over 55 years, covering over 800 kilometers and boasting over forty rail lines and 500 train stations.
Expressing Lagos State’s commitment to enhancing its transportation system, Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized the importance of efficient train operations for economic growth and mass transit within the city.
In discussions with the CACC management, Governor Sanwo-Olu reiterated Lagos State’s intention to build a new airport in the Lekki area.
He emphasized the need for strategic partners who understand the local market and are willing to invest in its potential growth. The CACC expressed readiness to collaborate with Lagos State in realizing the governor’s vision, citing the company’s expertise and capability to contribute to the state’s infrastructure development goals.
Accompanying Governor Sanwo-Olu on the trip are top government officials, including the Commissioner for Transportation, Chairman of the House Committee on Transportation, and other key stakeholders in the transportation and infrastructure sectors.
