On Sunday afternoon, a devastating fire broke out at the private residence of Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, the Minister of State in the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).
The property, situated at No. 9, Justice Roseline Ukeji Close in the affluent Asokoro area of Abuja, was completely consumed by the inferno.
Despite prompt responses to the emergency, including the arrival of fire service personnel, the flames ravaged the property beyond salvage.
Mr. Austin Elemue, the Special Adviser on Media to the Minister, confirmed the incident, expressing that the cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.
He further disclosed that authorities have initiated an investigation to ascertain the root cause of the blaze.
