The Commander General of the Kano State Hisbah Board, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, expresses concern about the freezing of the board’s bank accounts due to legal action initiated by hotel owners in the state.
Sheikh Daurawa highlighted that this development has severely impacted the board’s operations as its bank accounts are now restricted.

He emphasized the need for transparency in the legal process, stating that the board should be informed about the alleged offenses to enable proper legal representation.
The freezing of accounts followed a court document alleging misconduct at two hotels, leading to charges totaling N800,000. Sheikh Daurawa stressed the importance of understanding the accusations to mount a defense effectively.
The incident comes after previous controversies surrounding Hisbah operatives’ raids on hotels and entertainment establishments in Kano.
