International award-winning singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has taken legal action against Sophia Momodu, the mother of his first child, Imade.
In an originating motion filed by his lawyers at the Lagos State High Court, Davido seeks custody of their daughter.
The court documents, dated April 17, 2024, include two requests: one for joint custody of Miss Imade Adeleke and an alternative request for unrestricted access to her.
Davido explains that although his relationship with Momodu ended years ago, they had resolved to co-parent their child.
He emphasizes his commitment to Imade’s education, covering school fees and ensuring her needs are met. Additionally, he provided financial support for the apartment where Momodu and Imade reside.
To demonstrate his love for Imade, Davido purchased a N200 million apartment in a gated community with amenities like a swimming pool, 24-hour power, and water supply.
However, Momodu declined the offer, insisting on an annual rent payment of N5,000,000 for her accommodation.
Davido further reveals that he bought a Range Rover Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) for Imade’s transportation needs. When the Range Rover needed repairs, he provided a Highlander SUV and covered the repair costs.
Despite his efforts, Momodu allegedly made unreasonable demands, including expecting him to pay the nanny $800 per month and a lump sum of $19,600 annually.
