President Bola Tinubu has enacted a significant reconstitution of governing councils and boards for Federal Government-owned tertiary institutions, appointing 560 individuals to various positions.
The announcement, made by Nnamdi Mbaeri, Permanent Secretary of General Services, is aimed at enhancing the management of Nigeria’s higher education institutions.
Notable appointments include Chief Bisi Akande for the University of Ibadan, Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN) for the University of Lagos, Isa Yuguda for the National Open University, and Siyan Oyeweso for Obafemi Awolowo University.
Additionally, Adebayo Shittu, Muiz Banire, and Senator Florence Ita Giwa will chair governing boards for institutions in Ebonyi State, Katsina State, and Cross River State respectively.
