Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, the former vice presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has expressed strong disapproval of the Tinubu-led administration’s performance.
According to him, the government has failed to deliver on its campaign promises, particularly considering the current economic challenges faced by the country.
“Where are the campaign promises of the ongoing administration, what have they achieved?” Datti-Ahmed questioned.
“Look at the worsening insecurity, the declining economy and aggravated corruption. There’s probably a grand scheme to dismember Nigeria into six possibly autonomous zones because the only way to explain these failures is to carry them and run away,” he said.
Regarding the 2023 general election, Baba-Ahmed asserted that his party actually won.
In a candid statement, he emphasized, “I won’t stop saying it, Obi and I won the 2023 general election,” Datti-Ahmed said.
“The iRev was switched off, results were returned manually, the Constitution was twisted, and the meaning of English language was changed,”
Speaking about the Labour Party’s current state, Baba-Ahmed acknowledged that despite discontent, the party is faring better than some other opposition parties.
He compared it favorably to the situation faced by the CPC in 2015.
The political landscape remains dynamic, and Baba-Ahmed’s critique sheds light on the challenges and opportunities facing Nigeria’s governance.
