In a significant development, Governor Abba Yusuf has officially presented a letter of appointment to Muhammadu Sanusi II, restoring him as the 16th Emir of Kano.
The mini-durbar ceremony took place at the Africa House within the premises of the Kano State Government House on Friday, May 24.
Governor Yusuf expressed confidence in Sanusi II’s ability to utilize his vast experience and intellect to bring about positive change and progress to the esteemed emirate.
Sanusi II, known for his previous tenure marked by outspoken views on socio-economic reforms and governance, was deposed in March 2020 under controversial circumstances.
