Supporters of Peter Obi, the former Anambra governor and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, known as the Obidient movement, are mobilizing ahead of the 2027 presidential elections by forming a harmonization committee aimed at promoting peace, unity, and reconciliation.
The committee was inaugurated over the weekend in Abuja, the nation’s capital, and includes representatives from all six geopolitical zones to ensure a nationwide impact.
The diverse membership brings together individuals from various backgrounds and regions, enriching the committee with a wide range of perspectives and experiences.
Chairman Comrade Joseph Enan Maigari underscored the significance of the committee’s mission, describing Nigeria as a “wounded nation” suffering from the failures of past and present leadership.
He stressed that the committee’s task is delicate and will have long-lasting implications for the country.
Maigari also called for forgiveness and healing, emphasizing that the committee’s work is vital not only for the team but for all Nigerians.
He urged citizens from all walks of life to support the committee’s mission, highlighting that the country’s freedom and justice depend on collective effort.
Maigari said: “We are a wounded people because of the failure of the past and present leadership, no matter on which side we stood. We all stand in need of healing.
”We on the team are no superhuman exceptions. We too need forgiving and to forgive ourselves in order to be able to wrestle the oppressors holding this country captive since 1960.”
