Lagos State is in mourning following the death of Mr. Gboyega Soyannwo, the Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Mr. Soyannwo passed away at the age of 55 after a short illness.
The sad news was conveyed by the State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotosho, in a statement entitled “Transition,” which read“With deep sorrow, the Lagos State government announces the passing of the deputy chief of staff to Mr Governor, Mr Gboyega Soyannwo.
“Soyannwo died today duting a brief illness. He was 55.
“Mr. Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on behalf of the government and people of Lagos, sends his condolences to the Soyannwo family.”
Governor Sanwo-Olu, representing the state’s government and its citizens, extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved Soyannwo family.
The announcement of Mr. Soyannwo’s passing was made by Governor Sanwo-Olu during the State Executive Council (SEC) meeting, leading to an immediate adjournment of the session in his honor.
