Finidi George, the newly appointed head coach of the Super Eagles, is reportedly looking to assemble his own coaching team and is not considering his former teammates, Daniel Amokachi and Emmanuel Amuneke, for the assistant coach roles.
Despite the speculation surrounding potential candidates for his backroom staff, Finidi has not made any official selections since his recent appointment.
Amokachi and Amuneke, who both vied for the head coach position, are believed to be contenders for the assistant roles.
However, sources suggest that Finidi prefers to handpick his assistants, aiming for a fresh collaboration rather than reuniting with his former teammates.
The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has affirmed that the new head coach will have the autonomy to choose his support staff, reinforcing Finidi’s intention to curate a team aligned with his vision for the Super Eagles.
