Amaju Pinnick, the incumbent two-term President of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), is set to contest for re-election to the FIFA Council.
The election is scheduled to take place on May 31, 2024, in Bangkok, Thailand.
Pinnick’s initial election to the FIFA Council occurred in March 2021 in Rabat, Morocco.
His election marked him as the second Nigerian, following Amos Adamu, to hold a position in this prestigious body.
His successful bid for the FIFA Council seat came after several other candidates withdrew from the election process.
In addition to his role with FIFA, Pinnick has also been a member of the CAF Executive Committee, the apex decision-making authority in African football.
