The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has issued an alert for the apprehension of former Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello, placing him on a national watch list.
Security agencies have been instructed to detain Bello upon any attempt to leave or enter the country.
The directive, issued in a letter from Assistant Comptroller of Immigration D S Umar, acting on behalf of Comptroller-General Kemi Nanna Nandap, cites ongoing legal proceedings against Bello.
He is currently facing money laundering charges in the Federal High Court in Abuja.
Addressed to the heads of the Department of State Services (DSS), National Intelligence Agency (NIA), and the Inspector General of Police, the communication mandates these agencies to execute the arrest of Bello at any national border crossing points.
