Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has issued a statement to fellow gubernatorial candidates, advising them to refrain from investing their efforts and resources in a bid for the already occupied Government House.
The governor’s remarks came after his session with the All Progressives Congress (APC) Screening Committee at the party’s national office in Abuja this Friday.
Aiyedatiwa expressed relief at being cleared of any issues regarding his credentials amidst ongoing debates, urging the propagators of these rumors to redirect their focus towards diligent campaigning in preparation for the primaries.
He criticized the contenders’ interest in a position that he currently holds, suggesting they reconsider their strategies. Furthermore, he highlighted his advantages over the other candidates, emphasizing his strengths and achievements.
“We are all indigenes of Ondo State and we are all qualified to run to be the Governor of Ondo state but there is a sitting governor. That is what I am saying that I have the structures; the people and the competence.
“Within the few months that I assumed office they have seen clearly that this is the best man of the job.,” he said.
