In a recent ruling by Justice Abimbola Awogboro at the Federal High Court in Lagos, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has been sentenced to a six-month prison term without the option of a fine. The decision was delivered on Friday, April 12.
During the proceedings, when questioned about his gender, Bobrisky affirmed that he is male.
Bobrisky faced charges for naira abuse and had entered a guilty plea.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had initially brought forward a six-count indictment against him on April 4, encompassing money laundering and naira abuse allegations.
He was formally charged by the EFCC on April 5 with offenses including Naira Abuse and Money Laundering.
Although the court ultimately dismissed the money laundering accusations, Bobrisky was convicted of Naira Abuse following his admission of guilt.
