In the spirit of Eid el-Fitr, President Bola Tinubu joined the congregation at Dodan Barracks, Ikoyi, Lagos, to partake in the festive prayers.
Accompanied by high-ranking officials, President Tinubu arrived at the venue at 10:02 a.m. on Wednesday.
Addressing the gathering through Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, President Tinubu emphasized the importance of maintaining the virtues of tolerance and empathy beyond the holy month of Ramadan.
He advocated for sustained goodwill and charity, underscoring the need for religious harmony and unity.
Grand Chief Imam of Lagos, Sheik Sulaiman Abou Nolla, who led the prayers, highlighted the profound blessings of fasting and its pivotal role as a fundamental pillar of Islam.
He described Ramadan as a time of grace and mercy, urging Nigerians to embrace unity and discipline for the nation’s progress.
The event was graced by notable figures, including former Minister of Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, and Minister of Blue Economy, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, among other dignitaries and traditional leaders.
Prayers were offered for divine guidance and protection for the President, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and their teams as they steer decisions for the people’s welfare.
