The Ikeja Special Offences Court, presided over by Justice Rahman Oshodi, has ordered the detention of Godwin Emefiele, the ex-governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
The ruling was made on Monday, and Emefiele will remain under EFCC’s watch until the court’s decision on his bail application, which is expected on Thursday.
Facing a 23-count charge from the EFCC, Emefiele has maintained his innocence.
Alongside him, Henry Osioma, the second defendant, has also entered a not guilty plea to a separate three-count charge.
