The tax evasion proceedings involving Binance Holdings Limited and its top executives have been postponed by a Federal High Court in Abuja.
The case, which implicates Tigran Gambaryan and Nadeem Anjarwalla, centers on allegations of the company’s failure to comply with tax registration and payment requirements.
According to the lawsuit, identified by case number FHC/ABJ/CR/115/2024, Binance did not fulfill its obligations to register with the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) for tax purposes.
The FIRS further accused the cryptocurrency exchange of not issuing necessary invoices for value-added tax calculations on its platform’s services.
The trial has been adjourned due to difficulties in serving charges to Gambaryan, who is currently detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The court awaits the resolution of this matter to proceed with the trial.
