The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has revolutionized the process of admission acceptance and rejection by introducing a new system that utilizes unique codes and biometric verification.
From now on, candidates will be required to use designated codes, 55019 or 66019, or their biometric data to make decisions regarding their admission status. This update was announced in JAMB’s latest weekly bulletin, as communicated by spokesperson Fabian Benjamin.
“As part of measures to simplify its processes for candidates, the Board has put necessary mechanisms in place to ensure that henceforth, all admissions offered by institutions can only be accepted or rejected either through the 55019 or 66019 channels or by using the candidate’s biometrics at any accredited CBT centre or JAMB Office.
“Through this facility, candidates would be able to accept or reject any admission offer (programme change inclusive) with his/her fingerprints.
“Therefore, the newly-crafted methods of accepting or rejecting admissions, are aimed at protecting the details of the candidates and upholding the sanctity of the admission process,” it said.
