Nigerian singer Duncan Mighty has embarked on an educational journey, taking a break from music to further his studies.
In the latest episode of the Big Conversation show, he revealed that he attended Freiburg University in Germany.
Recalling his experience, Duncan Mighty shared that he had to learn Dutch for six months before gaining admission.
He emphasized the importance of education, stating that it remains valuable even in old age.
The 40-year-old artist holds an MSc in Acoustics and now aims to pursue a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) degree.
“Studying in an international community like Freiburg and Germany is not English speaking University so you have to do language course for six months to speak Dutch and then you will be admitted into school,” he said.
“I give God praise, education never fails. I think it is the only thing that remains in you after old age.
“So if you were not able to go to school when your parents could send you, you should also go when you can send yourself. That is why I had to make the pause and I had to go to school. I am not done because I have to get a PhD.”
His musical journey began in a church choir, and his passion for music led him to study audio engineering, focusing on music production.
In 2008, he released his debut studio album titled “Koliwater”, featuring standout tracks like “Ijeoma” and “Scatter My Dada”. Three years later, he captivated audiences with “Obianuju”, a memorable song from his album “Ahamefuna (Legacy)”.
Duncan Mighty’s pursuit of a PhD demonstrates his commitment to personal growth and lifelong learning.
