PDP State Chairmen Unveil Plan to Expose Alleged Anti-Party FiguresState chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) nationwide, including the Federal Capital Territory, have announced their intent to disclose the identities of prominent individuals allegedly engaged in anti-party activities during the 2023 elections.
Following the conclusion of the 2023 presidential election, numerous party members have demanded consequences for specific individuals suspected of acting against the party’s interests.
Notable among those facing scrutiny are former governors Nyesom Wike, Ayo Fayose, and Samuel Ortom, among others.
During a recent gathering of the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) with state chairmen in Abuja, Umar Bature, the PDP National Organising Secretary, stressed the importance of identifying individuals involved in anti-party behavior.
In response, Felix Hyatt, the PDP Chairman of Chairmen and Kaduna State Chairman, revealed that state chairpersons have received NWC’s backing to address specific individuals at the state level according to the party’s constitution.
Hyatt emphasized the localized nature of discipline and anti-party activities, asserting that state chapters have the autonomy to address issues from their perspective, with the national leadership’s support.
He affirmed that state chairmen would take appropriate action, and names of individuals beyond their jurisdiction would be escalated to the national leadership for further consideration, as outlined in the party’s constitution.
