Edo State Deputy Governor Misconduct Probe Panel to Resume Session. The panel assembled by the Chief Judge of Edo State to probe allegations of misconduct against Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu is set to reconvene on Wednesday, April 3.
This panel, tasked with investigating accusations of perjury and disclosure of government secrets against Shaibu, will resume its proceedings at the Judges Conference Room, New High Court Complex, Benin City, as announced by George Odidi, the Administrative Secretary of the panel.
In accordance with Section 188 subsection 5 of the Nigerian Constitution of 1999, parties involved or their legal representatives are expected to attend the session. The statement also indicated that the complainant should be prepared to present its case on the specified day.
It’s worth noting that the Edo State Chief Judge, Justice Daniel Okungbowa, following the directive of the State House of Assembly, constituted a seven-member committee on Friday, March 22, 2024, to investigate the allegations against Shaibu.
