Explosion in Dawaki, Bwari Local Government Area, FCT: One Injured an explosion rocked the Dawaki area of the Bwari Local Government Area in Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory, reportedly causing injuries to at least one person.
The incident occurred around 8:30 am on Friday.According to eyewitnesses, the explosion originated from a one-bedroom apartment housing two male occupants.
Despite one occupant claiming it was a cooking gas explosion, there was no noticeable odor of gas.”We heard a sudden blast within Dawaki.
The noise came from a one-bedroom apartment occupied by two men. One of them sustained injuries and was rushed to the National Hospital, Abuja,” a resident disclosed.
While one occupant attributed the explosion to a cooking gas mishap, evidence such as the spared kitchen window, absence of fire, and damage limited to certain windows raised suspicions.
The incident has been reported to the Dwaki police station, with calls for the FCT command’s bomb ordnance squad to investigate further.
Efforts to contact Josephine Adeh, the FCT police spokesperson, for official statements remained unsuccessful as she did not respond to calls or messages.
