The premier fuel station in Adamawa state, located in Yola, the state capital, has suffered significant damage due to a fire incident.
The NNPC Mega station, situated on Bank Road, was engulfed in flames during the early hours of Thursday, March 28.
Upon reaching the scene, journalists from The Nation witnessed the aftermath of the blaze, which had consumed the petrol tanker and extended to the roof covering the station’s pump area.
Witnesses reported that the fire originated from the tanker before swiftly spreading to nearby structures.
Despite attempts to gather information, individuals associated with the station declined to provide additional details about the incident, leaving the cause of the fire uncertain.
Meanwhile, concerns have arisen about fuel shortages in Yola, as the NNPC Mega Station, which was heavily relied upon by motorists in the city, has been affected.
Renowned for its consistent fuel supply, even during periods of scarcity at other stations in Yola, the NNPC Mega Station was also trusted for its dependable and transparent service, free from the usual malpractices often encountered elsewhere.
