The Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF) has commenced a significant outreach program, distributing 80,000 10kg bags of rice to Lagos’s most vulnerable populations.
This initiative is part of a larger effort to distribute over one million 10kg bags of rice across the 774 local government areas nationwide, aiming to support one million vulnerable individuals.
Aliko Dangote, the President of the Dangote Group and the Chairman of ADF, emphasized the foundation’s dedication to fostering compassion and unity, fundamental human values, through this distribution at the launch event in Alausa.
He highlighted that this rice distribution, coupled with the ongoing daily provision of 12,500 loaves of bread in Lagos, is designed to alleviate the hardships of the city’s vulnerable residents.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State commended the Aliko Dangote Foundation for its numerous efforts to reduce the plight of Nigerians.
He particularly lauded Mr. Dangote’s empathetic approach to aiding those in need, noting that the current rice distribution initiative reflects the foundation’s commitment to prioritizing the well-being of the community over financial gains.
