The Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, has revealed plans for the creation of the FCT Rapid Response Team to tackle security challenges in Abuja.
In a recent meeting with Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, Wike outlined the initiative, which aims to establish a collaborative force involving the Army, Police, DSS, and Civil Defence to bolster the city’s crime-fighting capabilities.
Wike stressed the importance of equipping the team with advanced technology to effectively combat crime in the nation’s capital, emphasizing a vision for a comprehensive and well-equipped force.
General Musa expressed the military’s commitment to supporting the initiative, highlighting plans to establish a rapid response team with ground troops and air support, including helicopters, ensuring readiness at all times.
These proposed measures signal a joint effort by the FCT Administration and security agencies to enhance security operations and ensure the safety of residents and visitors in Abuja.
