The legal dispute between celebrated singer Davido and Amaju Pinnick, represented by Brownhill Investment Company Limited, has been resolved outside the courtroom.
The lawsuit, initiated by Pinnick in October 2023 over a performance contract for the ‘Warri Again’ concert, accused Davido of non-fulfillment despite payment and arrangements made for his appearance.
Pinnick, a FIFA executive and former head of the Nigeria Football Federation, claimed the artist received $94,600 for the performance and incurred an additional $18,000 in chartered flight costs.
Following a public exchange that escalated the situation, Pinnick sought N150 million in legal fees and N30 million in filing costs through the lawsuit.
The High Court in Delta has now sanctioned the mutual agreement to settle, with Davido consenting to pay N30 million towards the legal fees and committing to perform at the upcoming ‘Warri Again’ concert on October 4, 2024.
The previously paid $94,500 will serve as the fee for this performance.
In a move to mend relations, the parties have agreed to a public statement addressing the resolution of their misunderstandings and affirming their commitment to move forward positively.
“All issues regarding ‘Warri Again 2023 Concert’ have been settled between Mr. Amaju Pinnick and myself, and I am happy to announce that I shall be performing live at the ‘Warri Again 2024 Concert’ on 4th October, 2024 in Warri, Delta State” Davido said.
