In a strategic political move, Ondo State Deputy Governor Olayide Adelami has merged his political faction, the Adelami Political Movement, with Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s camp.
This merger, which includes over 8,000 members across the 18 local government areas, forms the new Aiyedatiwa/Adelami Grassroots Mobilisers.
The unification is aimed at strengthening Governor Aiyedatiwa’s bid for re-election in the upcoming gubernatorial polls.
Segun Ogodo, the director general of the movement, praised Deputy Governor Adelami’s unwavering support for the APC and his significant contributions to the party’s success in the 2020 elections.
Adelami, who previously vied for the APC governorship primary, has been lauded for his dedication and is expected to play a pivotal role in mobilizing grassroots support for Aiyedatiwa.
In response, Adelami has called upon the group’s members to rally vigorously for the governor’s victory in the November 2024 elections, emphasizing unity and concerted effort for the success of the Aiyedatiwa project.
The announcement was made in the presence of key local government coordinators and state executives, signaling a consolidated effort to secure a prosperous future for Ondo State under Aiyedatiwa’s leadership.
