On Tuesday, March 19, the Senate approved the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) budget for the 2024 fiscal year, totaling N1.282 trillion.
This budget passage followed the endorsement of recommendations from the harmonized report of the Senate and House of Representatives Committees on FCT during plenary.

Senator Ibrahim Bomoi, the chairman of the Senate Committee on FCT, presented the report to the Senate.
The budget breakdown includes N140.915 billion for personnel costs, N373.027 billion for overhead costs, and the remaining N768.328 billion allocated for capital projects throughout the FCT financial year, spanning from January 1 to December 31, 2024.
