The late Nollywood icon, Charles Okafor, affectionately known as Mr. Ibu, has been laid to rest in his hometown of Enugu State.Accompanied by grieving family members, including his second son, the beloved actor’s body returned to Enugu on Tuesday.
Mr. Ibu, celebrated for his comedic genius, passed away at 62 following a fatal cardiac arrest. His health had been in decline due to a prolonged illness, which ultimately led to the amputation of one of his legs due to vascular disease complications.
In their time of need, his family reached out to the public for financial support, citing ongoing health challenges such as severe blood clotting and other life-threatening complications.
As Enugu State bids farewell to this cultural icon, the Nigerian entertainment industry mourns the loss of a beloved talent whose legacy in cinema will endure for generations.
