Senator Abdul Ningi Resigns as Chairman of Northern Senators Forum
Senator Abdul Ningi has stepped down from his role as the chairman of the Northern Senators Forum (NSF), following his suspension earlier today.
Ningi’s decision to resign comes shortly after he was suspended for a period of three months due to allegations of budget padding.
He had raised concerns about illegal projects amounting to over N3 trillion in the 2024 budget.
In his resignation letter, Ningi stated, “I will like to resign my position as the Chairman of Northern Senators Forum. This is, of course, necessitated by unfolding events in the National Assembly, the North, and the Nation at large.
“He expressed gratitude to the members of the forum for entrusting him with the leadership position for the past eight months, acknowledging the importance of the forum in advancing the progress and development of Northern Nigeria.
Ningi’s resignation marks a significant development in the political landscape, with implications for the future direction of the Northern Senators Forum and broader national affairs.
