The sighting of the new crescent moon marking the beginning of Ramadan has been verified by the Sultanate.
The confirmation came through a tweet from the official account @moonsightingng on the evening of Sunday, March 10.
An official declaration from the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Saad Abubakar, is expected shortly.
The tweet stated: “The Sultanate has confirmed a single sighting claim and His Eminence the Sultan will soon make an announcement. Ramadan Mubarak.”
