Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, a member of the Senate Appropriation Committee, has called for Senator Abdul Ningi to be charged by the Federal Government over alleged breaches of peace and criminal misinformation within the National Assembly.
Ningi’s recent claims regarding untraceable projects worth N3.7 trillion in the 2024 Appropriation Act and an alleged discrepancy between the budget figures provided by the National Assembly and those purportedly being operated by the Federal Government prompted Jimoh’s response.
Jimoh emphasized that Nigeria is not operating two Appropriation Acts, contrary to Ningi’s assertions, and urged for immediate legal action against his colleague.
He stated, “If the Senate fails to act within the next seven days, I will petition the Inspector General of Police to investigate the approval of two 2024 Appropriation Acts and hold those responsible accountable.”Jimoh stressed the urgency of charging Ningi for conduct likely to cause a breach of peace and criminal misinformation.
