Max Verstappen continued his winning streak by clinching the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, with teammate Sergio Perez securing a one-two finish for Red Bull, marking a flawless start to their season.
Charles Leclerc drove his Ferrari to a third-place finish, while British newcomer Oliver Bearman made a splash by finishing seventh in his first Formula 1 race, substituting for the unwell Carlos Sainz.
Leclerc praised the 18-year-old Bearman, who was unexpectedly called to action on Friday after Sainz suffered appendicitis, saying, “Securing seventh place on your F1 debut is nothing short of remarkable.”
Bearman earned the ‘Driver of the Day’ accolade, while Verstappen showcased his focus and skill amidst the ongoing scrutiny surrounding team principal Christian Horner.
Following his victory in the season opener in Bahrain, the reigning triple world champion achieved his ninth straight win and celebrated his 100th podium appearance.
Oscar Piastri of McLaren took fourth place, with Fernando Alonso’s Aston Martin close behind.
The top ten was completed by George Russell (Mercedes), Bearman, Lando Norris (McLaren), Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), and Nico Hulkenberg in the Haas vehicle.
