Renowned Nollywood star Rita Dominic has opened up about her choice to embrace matrimony later in life. At 46, Dominic stands firm on her belief that marriage should be embarked upon for the correct motives, rather than yielding to external societal pressures.
Throughout her journey, Dominic encountered several admirable individuals, yet compatibility remained elusive. She holds the conviction that forcing a relationship is not her approach if the pieces do not naturally fall into place.
Dominic describes her union with Fidelis Anosike as a delightful and intriguing adventure, highlighting that their bond was forged over years of friendship which eventually blossomed into love, culminating in marriage.
Speaking in a recent interview with Joy 99.7 FM, Dominic said, “marriage is nice and interesting. We were friends for a long time and then we found love, and then we dated, and we got married.
“I wanted to be sure that I was marrying for the right reasons and not for societal pressure. There was pressure for me before I got married, it was for years. I just turned a deaf ear. I always said I would marry the man of my dreams and not the man the society dreams for me because if anything happens to me tomorrow, I would be the one to pack up the pieces and not the society”
