Ebonyi Governor Attributes Ban on Tinted Glasses and Unregistered Cars to Rising Insecurity. Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has clarified that the executive order prohibiting the use of tinted glasses and unregistered vehicles in the state stems from the escalating insecurity.
Speaking at a special church service held at the New Government House Chapel in Abakaliki, Governor Nwifuru expressed concern over the recent killing of four police officers on duty along Hilltop Road in Ebonyi Local Government Area.
The governor disclosed that the perpetrators arrived in vehicles with tinted glass and unregistered plates. Governor Nwifuru emphasized the need for public officials not to conceal themselves behind tinted vehicles after being elected by the people.
He recounted his own decision to remove tinted glasses from his official vehicles during his tenure as Speaker, citing transparency and accountability.Addressing the prevailing insecurity, Governor Nwifuru stressed that security is a collective responsibility, urging government officials to take proactive measures.
He assured that the state government possesses intelligence on criminal activities and vowed to take decisive action against perpetrators soon.
