Suspected bandits shot dead Babangida Abubakar Sadeeq, a former general manager of Jigawa State Housing Authority, along with two others on Tuesday night.
The incident occurred on Yalwandamai road while the ex-government official was traveling to Birnin Kudu, his hometown, after leaving his farm in Dutse, according to a resident.
The source recounted, “Late Babangida was returning from Dutse when he stopped by a village near Yalwandamai to check on his people working in his farm.

Shortly after he left the farm, one of the occupants in his vehicle noticed suspicious individuals ahead and alerted Babangida. As they approached, the assailants opened fire on the moving vehicle.
“Babangida and the others were rushed to the Federal Medical Center Birnin Kudu, where they were pronounced dead by a medical doctor.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Lawan Shiisu, assured that efforts were underway to apprehend the perpetrators.
