Renowned Nigerian artist Innocent Idibia, widely recognized as 2Baba, and his long-time manager Efe Omorogbe, have announced the end of their professional partnership spanning over twenty years.
The separation is effective immediately, as shared by both parties.
Omorogbe, the CEO of Now Muzik, expressed his gratitude towards 2Baba in a heartfelt message on the company’s Instagram page.
He wrote: “I am grateful to 2Baba for the trust and for the friendship. I am proud of the brands we built together, the music we made; the fans we entertained.”
“It really is an honour to have had the opportunity to walk side by side with him, watching and helping him make magic over the past two decades. My team and I look forward to now supporting from the sidelines, and continuing to advocate for any and everything 2Baba,”
He reflected on their shared trust, friendship, and the successful brands and music they created together, which delighted countless fans.
Describing their collaboration as more than just work, Omorogbe hailed 2Baba as one of Nigeria’s all-time great musicians. He felt privileged to have contributed to 2Baba’s career and is eager to continue supporting him from a new perspective.
2Baba, who joined Now Muzik after leaving The Plantashun Boiz in 2004 and signing with Kennis Music, has since released eight albums, toured over a hundred cities, won numerous awards, and amassed over 400 million streams across various platforms.
2Baba attributes much of his success to the support of Efe and the Now Muzik team, acknowledging the significant role they played in realizing his talent and vision.
“I know it’s a cliche but every good thing must come to an end. I owe a lot of my career success to Efe and his team at Now Muzik.
“Everything I’ve been able to achieve is as a result of the support of so many people and organisations working with me to bring my talent and vision to life. Now Muzik is one of such companies and I couldn’t be more grateful to them.”
