The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has officially reopened visa services for Nigerian travelers, marking the end of a two-year visa ban imposed on Nigerians. The ban, which resulted in the automatic rejection of pending visa applications, was lifted on March 4, 2024.
In a joint announcement titled “Resumption of Visa Services for Nigerians Traveling to the UAE,” both governments highlighted the milestone achievement, emphasizing the outcome of extensive discussions and demonstrating a mutual commitment to strengthening bilateral ties, promoting cultural exchanges, and fostering economic and social collaborations.
To streamline the visa application process, the UAE has introduced an enhanced document verification procedure.
UAE Ambassador to Nigeria, Saleem Saeed Al-Shamsi, underscored the significance of this updated protocol, aiming to ensure a seamless and efficient experience for Nigerian visa applicants.
