Construction on the Enugu-Port Harcourt dual carriageway’s section 4 has resumed, with the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation Ltd (CCECC) back on the job. This follows the Federal Government’s retraction of a termination notice that had been issued over the slow progress of the work.
Minister of Works, David Umahi, made the announcement after inspecting the project site, where he praised the improved pace and quality of the work being done by CCECC.
The minister’s satisfaction was evident as he revoked the previous warning and commended the daily progress reports he has been receiving.
Umahi’s inspection tour also included other critical segments of the Enugu-Port Harcourt dual carriageway, particularly section 2 managed by Arab Contractors and section 3 of the East-West road overseen by Reynolds Construction Company Nigeria Ltd.
He also reviewed the rehabilitation efforts on section 3 of the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway, handled by CGC.
The minister’s approval extended to the Arab Contractors for their exemplary work in Abia State and to the Reynolds Construction Company, whose performance he plans to report to the President.
Umahi’s visit to the CGC site further confirmed his approval of the ongoing work, noting the substantial equipment on-site as a sign of the contractor’s dedication and proficiency.
